“Deliverance is Mine, O Child!

I desire to be thy sole way!

What Am I? A jealous God!

This will My Love betray.

Is it fair that blood’s required

To repay an evil deed?

Yes, tis fair, but not the reason

I rectify what thee plead.

Tis because I offer this: Myself,

To repair what Sin has changed.

I determine it’ll be My blood

To return what’s been estranged.

I will not suffer it be less –

What will suffice besides? –

If Creation begs a cure,

It will be Who resides

Above the Earth! Above the Sea!

The highest, only Deity!

Creation! Atoning death will be –

‘Twill be I! Son, ‘twill be Thee.
