Creation and the Symbolism of Adam

Creation and the Symbolism of Adam

“Are We ready, Eternal Father?”

Asks the holy and righteous Son.

“Now is it come that Time and Earth

Are appointed to be begun?”

“Yes!” rejoices the Father,

With joy and infinite plans.

“It is time for Our Creation;

Wondrous things My Hand will span:

Let there be light! – dance hither –

Spread My glory o’er the void.

Air and water – collect thither –

Be Atmosphere and Seas.”

“Is it time now, Holy Father?

 Design finished for Them, yet?”

“Nay, almost,” sayeth the Father.

“First, requirements are set.

Do not fear – I’ve not forgotten –

I’m eager for Them like Thee!

I Am longing for My people;

My glorious Word they’ll see.

But, they need food for strength,

And earth’s carpet for lying down.

For their light – the sun, the moon,

And stars the night to crown.

Next, I’ll place the creatures, great,

And beasts gentle and good.

But the last shall be the first;

The blessed of all that stood.

Time is set in motion –

It shall keep them day by day.

For hence! Five days have passed,

And Good is what I say.

But Son – Ye own the final word –

All this is firm and bright,

For instinct have I all assured,

Not free-will nor foresight.

Yet in my next creation, pure,

Choice is a surrendered right.

“I understand, dear Father,”

Nods the Righteous Son,

“They may not choose to honor us;

See our Will through and done.”

“A chance I provide; a decision,

Though the generations it bears.

I’ll make but one rule to break

Or ne’er to break – Lo there!

The Tree of Knowledge is planted;

Knowledge of Right and Wrong.

Its fruit glistens in My light

With wisdom for which they’ll long.

The fruit is not bad in itself

For what I create is good!

But if they pluck it I will know

They’ll serve us not, and would

Rue what precepts I bestow.

The knowledge will become a curse –

Look there! The serpent has appeared.

He twines around his trunk of chance;

To seize Man, he has neared.

He shall deceive; they shall fall –

Oh, Son, shall it so be?

My Nature requires I give a choice,

But it passes through Calvary.”

“I know this, Father,” sayeth the Son

“I Am willing and sure.

On Golgotha’s cross-shadowed hill

I’ll remake human race pure.

I love them all so much, tis true!

Create them, O My Father, wise!”

“It shall be done – human arise!

Out of the dust I have sculpted

And drawn thee. Open thy eyes!

Into thy nostrils receive My breath.

Rise into life out of dust of death.

Name the creatures; thine is authority

O’er beast, bird and shrubbery.

But harken to My warning fair:

The Centre-tree do not approach.

Of its fruit, do not partake,

And its boughs, do not touch. *

Otherwise care for My Garden,

Eat freely and well of the rest.

Of all My creation, truly,

Child, thou art the very best!

“My Son – rejoice! – I Am very pleased;

Very Good, My renewed cry.

Man and woman, created they stand,

Perfected from on High.”

“Yes, Father! And they ought not change;

They’re holy and righteous, as We.

They, Our pride and perfect design;

In Them Our Likeness We see!

I shalt not regret My path –

Behold, to Calvary I’ll go.”

“Loving Son, I Am proud of Thee!

How I love Thee so!”
